Events Summary

The 3rd annual Murder Goes South marked the expansion of the festival to two days. The Friday night session featured a presentation by keynote speaker and featured author Carolyn Hart. Dinner was catered by Café Michelle.

Nine accomplished authors were featured on Saturday: Steve Brown, Beverly Connor, Carolyn Haines, Carolyn Hart, Brandon Massey, Cathy Pickens, Cheryl Ritzel, E. Joan Sims and Bill Stackhouse.

The nine writers were grouped into three panels of three. Each panel was allocated 45 minutes to discuss aspects of their writing pertaining to three topics: The Butler Did it, The Suspense is Killing Me and Southern Locales.

Additional discussions were hosted by Frank Durrance (K-9 Police Dog Unit), Walter Sorrells (Knives & Their Usage) and Holly McClure (Finding a Literary Agent). Friends of Smyrna Library Board Member and Atlanta Journal-Constitution Columnist Jim Wooten concluded the day by moderating a discussion between the panel and the audience.
